COMMUNITY SERVICE

Community service is a valuable experience for our students. Giving back to ones’ community is both rewarding and educational. As such, community service is a graduation requirement to earn a GHS diploma and is required of all students in grades 9-12. The hour requirements are as follows: Students must complete 72 hours of community service during 9-12 grade to graduate from GHS. Students should complete at least 18 hours each of their 4 years of high school.

Guidelines for community service projects include the following:
  • Must be completed at a non-profit or government agency.
  • Students should complete hours EACH year.
  • Students need to return the community service supervisor form and turn in an hours verification form to Ms. Meghan each time community service hours are completed.
  • Ms. Meghan will maintain a log of all community service hours that have been verified.
  • Students should check the Community Service Opportunities bulletin board located outside Ms. Meghan’s office for current community service opportunities.
