HOW TO APPLY
Application Instructions
Information About ELC Enrollment:

Students are admitted to Gifft Hill School's Early Childhood Programs on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited in each classroom to maintain an effective student/teacher ratio. Waiting lists are kept when registration is full. Students currently enrolled in the school have priority for class enrollment, though re-enrollment of current students is not guaranteed and can be denied at the discretion of the school.
For families who are not yet ready to send their preschool student to school full-time, Gifft Hill School offers a part-time option. With this option, children can attend either two days per week (Tuesday and Thursday) or three days per week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday). This part-time option is on a space-available basis, and full-time students are given priority for enrollment. Besides space availability, the following guidelines will be used to determine admission:
Preschool: Students wishing to enter Preschool must be at least 2 1/2 years old and toilet-trained.
Pre-Kindergarten: The Pre-Kindergarten program is for students who turn 4 years old prior to September 1 of the school year.
Kindergarten: The Kindergarten program is for students who turn 5 years old prior to September 1 of the school year.
The Application Process for
Preschool through Grade 12:
1) Submission of Application Form: The student initiates the admissions process by completing and submitting the application packet. The application packet includes the following:

Forms B - Medical Information (or Universal Child Health Record if applying to the ELC; this carbon-copy form is available at school)
Form C - Parent/Student Questions
Form D - Teacher Reference

Please call the main office in advance at 340-776-1730 to schedule an interview and tour. Appointments are available Monday through Saturday throughout the year.
3) Placement Testing: Applicants applying to grades 1 through 12 will be required to take a placement test. This test runs about 1 to 1 ½ hours.
At this point, the student's admission’s file is complete. Please note applications can only be reviewed once all materials are submitted.
4) Notification of Acceptance: Once the above steps are completed, the school will notify the student and family of the student's acceptance. Upon acceptance, each student will be provided an enrollment contract.
5) Submission of Enrollment Contract and Pre-payment: In order to finalize enrollment and guarantee the student's placement in Gifft Hill School, a signed enrollment contract and a tuition pre-payment of $500 (this is not a deposit, but is subtracted from the overall tuition due) must be submitted to the school. The $500 pre-payment and signed enrollment contract will be due within 15 days of notification of acceptance.
6) Sign Up For FACTS Tuition Management Program: The final step to conclude your child’s enrollment is to sign up to use our tuition management program. Specific directions on how to do this can be found on the Tuition and Fee Explanation page. You have 2 choices for paying tuition: 1) automatic withdrawal from your checking or savings account or 2) using a major credit card (MasterCard, Discover, or American Express).
At this point, the student's enrollment to Gifft Hill School is complete.
